The YA4D network is a community of practice based on genuine relationships, sharing and support. We believe that our connection with like-minded human beings is a way of building resilience. Only trusted friends and partners will get access to join the YA4D network.
Well-Being
Support
The well-being of democracy defenders has often been neglected. If we want to create positive change, we need to calm our nervous system and process stressful experiences. Upon request, YA4D members get access to a safe space for individual or group coaching with specialized well-being experts.
Workshops, Trainings & Conferences
Besides online workshops and trainings, we also want to meet in person on a regular basis. Yearly conferences will take place alternately in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Additionally, YA4D
members are invited to Berlin and
Brussels for meetings with policymakers and civil society actors.

ABOUT US
The Young Advocates For Democracy (YA4D) network aims to connect young, politically engaged people from science, politics, culture, arts and civil society who share the fundamental values of democracy, human rights, gender equality and environmental protection. It’s an informal, non-hierarchical initiative by like-minded young people for like-minded young people.
We envision the YA4D network as a community of genuine relationships, where we meet each other not only for knowledge sharing, strategy building and project implementation, but also for solidarity and support. In the face of globally shrinking civic spaces, where our autonomy, rights to association, expression and participation are getting more and more restricted, the closely-knit YA4D community builds resilience and empowers its members to strengthen and defend democracy and human rights worldwide.
